Daniels took the overall with a - 2·1, followed by Farley (1·2), Bobby Bullock (Yam 4-3) and Roger- Brown (3-4). The 250 Expert class was a hot one right from the start. Farley, Brown, and DeWitt Knox (Yam) of Austin were dicing it for the lead with Knox holding a slight edge over the other two . Knox's Yamaha broke its frame and handlebars after a ha rd landing over the big jump, and Farley .hit in to him, leaving Brown in the lead. Farley remounted and came back to finish thi rd behind leader Roger Brown and a healed Mark Wheeless (Yam) of Austin . Dan Farley took the second mota win, but all Roger needed for the overall was a second p lace finish, an d that 's what he got. David Stutts (Hus) of San Antonio took third and third overall. Wheeless didn 't enter this mota fo r . unknown reasons. Barry Billin gt on (Hus) o f Waco ace d the 250 Novices with two good rides, as did Mike Molie re (Hus) of San Antonio in th e 250 Intermediates. Mitch Mitchell Yam ) of Austin an d T roy Pat terson Suz) both tried to hold t he lea d in th e 250 Intermediate class, but Moliere even tually got around th e pair and took the win. Santa A na , CA 92705 714-835-7821 Florida shoe Dan Farley showed up at Lockhart with a trio of trick Huskies in hopes of defeating the locals . and picking up a ' little travelling money, but the dazzling duo from New Braunfels, David Daniels and Roger . Brown, left Farley with two second place finishes. The 125 Experts sho t out of the gate to start the first mota and Roger Brown grabbed a commanding lead in no ti me at all. Withi n a few lap s Dan Far ley was breathing down his neck and David Daniels was closing the distan ce on b oth of them . Farley put th e pass on Roger and Daniels crashed. Farley gassed his trick Hus ky to a hu ge lead , bu t Daniels wasn't to be defeated that ea sily . He rem ounted and re passed the entire p ac k, incl uding Roger Brown, and went af te r Farley. Farley held on to win by a very short distance, with Daniels second and Roger Brown third. Bobby Bullock took fourth , 'Dol'vid Daniels (Yam) took the lead at the start of the second mota and never let go. Farley maintained second, CASTLE ROCK, CO., MAR. 28 Out-of-staters had a good time at . Castle Rock; California, Ohio and Or egon riders did a number and had a good time doing it. Mad Dog Bauer came in from Orange Coun try on his DC Honda, Dave Lindquist from" Ohio and Walt Bianchini fro m Por tlan d , Oregon. Walt, who came to Color ad o t 0 2 ski, rode a borrowed Yamaha, Even j though he'd never seen a Colorado track:!> and had very little practice time, he just m issed a first overall, leading m o st of both motos until the skii ng activity and the altitude caused him to tire towa rd the end. Ron Crane squeaked by him at the finish line to take the 125 B, but felt Walt's heat as Bianchini took a good second in a truly exciting race. . Steve Kolias (Yam) , in the 125 Novice class, put together two motos to take first while Jeff Burrows (Han) came in second. The 250 Novice class was led by Kevin Oser .I Hon ) and Jim Ehrlich put in for second. John Karl [Mai] ran two fine motos to ride away with overall honors in the 500 Novice ' with Cuy Classer picking up his second. Kini Hiserote (Pen) did it again for overall top spot in the 250 B class. This is getting to be a habit for him. John Koch rode a strong second place on his ' Husky. The Experts all ran together. Mad Dog Bauer on his 125 Honda won it both times for the overall ace . He just flat got au t there and toodled, The only one to hang in with him was Dave Lindquist on a brand new Open class Maico.
