Moore and Alan Ray put on' the show that resulted in C. R. Moore taking first in front of Alan and th ird-placed Mike Bronowski. . When the flag went down for the 250 Novices, Harold Hancock came off the line like he knew the secret. A true believer, Harold supplied the encore in the second moto to win the overall with Spencer Rubay chasing for second and Jack Thompson third. • ' Dave Lindquist saw his line for the 250 Open and by the time he came off the flrst tum, he said bye: Dave won the first moto clean, but in the second a few riders smarting from the first whipping gave Dave some trouble until he passed the first place rider in a flat out drag ' . • rac e on the uphill. Stacy Smith came off the line like a roc ket on his Yam aflyer and pulled aw ay as though possessed. Too bad his engine wasn't as energetic as Stacy; it relaxed in to a mud-bath for the da y. - The second mote Was a repeat as Firestine caught the right wave and st ay ed on it until his Yamahauler put him ashore across the checkered line. Jack Todd sailed to victory in the 250 A class on a shiny (not for long) new ' Maico with only 30 minutes break-in time. This, in addition to displaying his stamina by also ri ding the 125A and Open A classes. • ... at Berthoud, thi.,gs were a' bit different. Score mud one, rider zero.
