" The syste m wi ll ge t its first wo rkout trial at a March 20 daytime pro gram, th e day _ be fore Sunday 's 100 lap TI. The way it will wo rk , all professiona l Novice riders m ust enter th e short track q ualifier event. The top 40 fro m t he March 20 event will st art o n Ap ril 2. Af ter the first Fr ida y ni ght half mile , the to p 30 each we ek will be invited back th e fo llowing week, no qualifi cation required. The remaining spots in th e 40-No vice lin eup will co me from the top 10 durin g next Thur sd ay night's qualifie r. Alternates will be invited to fill n on-starter sp ots , and provision for out of st ate riders.will be made if they notify the promoter on e -eek in advance o f their arrival.
