The newly-merged Western /Eastern Roadracers Assoc. (W/ ERA ) has de cided not to ap ply for an AMA ch ar ter or participate in an AMA ·sanctioned road raci ng program . To this effect, they have desi gna te d t heir p lanned pro series the Amer ican Motorc ycl e Ro ad Racing Championship , to avo id co nfusion with AMA 's planned " USRRC" series. With one more major road race promoting club pulling away , maybe the AMA should try to set up another Dallas-style council meeting (perhaps a~ Daytona) to try once more t o draw together t he many divergent views and strong egos involved in U.S. road racing.
