Some riders would have preferred something a little wider than the 3 .00/3.20 X 21 tire up front, but other riders will like the precision a narrow tire offers. The front Akront demanded spoke tigh tening after every ride and still managed to develop a couple of flat spots. The magen ta three-gallon tank will provide enough fuel for about 60 miles and it doesn't interfere with the rider. The kickstand is just abou t useless unless there is flat ground with no wind where you're parking. Riding position was fine and . all controls were comfortably at hand. The WR shifts as well or better than a Yamaha. There is noticeable vibration. Despite the rich jetting, we never fouled a plug. A Iine Twin Air filter comes standard. . To sum it all up, we all cried when it had to be returned. There is n o do ubt the Husky cost a Jot to be produced. What with the heat-treated chrome-moly frame , gas shocks, magnesium engine and Iigh t p lastic fenders. It is the finest Open class cross co untry racer avai lable. But therein lies the rub: With a price tag of over two grand o ut the door, h ow avai lable will it be for most of us? For a Beginner or No vice, it w ou ld be a waste of m o n ey . The bike is fo r the Expert who wan ts to win so bad his teeth hurt an d he has the ability to do it . The Husky is a bargain for such a ri der.
