GGESTIONS. PET-ROCHE~GI~ ~SUG"G ~ ~ Amateur/Expert race. He led from the bomb and wo rked his way up to a two-minute lead by the e nd of the race. Ti m Bowman (400 CZ) ran second on the first lo op, only to come up with a pai r of flats. Cordis Brooks (250 Bul), just back from the D-37 race, moved from fifth at the start to take second. A bush knocked off his visor and he had to ride goggle-le ss because of the glare . Kell y , who'd wo n b ig over at District, got a good start this time and was running third after Bowman's demise. Then, com in g in for the last loop, he passed Bro oks . Brooks passed him back. Getting into some more tight stuff, Kelly got by again . Kelly might have been ab le to stay ahead, but a flat rear tire ' let Brooks by for go od. Andy Kirker (250 Hus) finished fourth . Meek had another great ride, fmishing fifth , first Amateur. Then came Wayne Garrett , p ie-pla tin g on a 125. Bob Romine, also on a 125 Mono, was next in. This was the last race en the year, so a few Number One plates were decided. Gus Paull (Sen ior), Eric Spaeth (0-200) and Phil Stumbo (250) had theirs sealed up weeks ago . Jamie Avels had a ch ance to catch Dave Wood. But Avels had to win both races and Wood had to DNF both. But Wood hasn't DNF'ed in over a year and a h alf, so he fini shed both races and won the Number One plate in the Open class . Michelle Griffin had to DN F and Winona Richardson had to win for the order to change the order in the Powder Puff class . Michelle finished right in front of Winona, gaini ng Nu mber One for 1976. Dave Bowman certainly deserves a round of applause for his actions. He gave up a top ten placing in the Silver Cup to help Bernard Unhassobiscay after Bernard broke his leg. Dave stayed with him until a truck arrived to transport Bernard b ack to the pits. On Sunday, Dave saw Morgan Malocco get off and again he stopped to he lp. ' Morgan was bruised up pretty badly , but he'll be okay. • Results in Results Section. Buzzard's Euro Scrams: 0-37 '75 finale By Owen Tate KRAMER HILLS, CAL., DEC 14 The Buzzards M.C. h osted the final D-37 race of the season and the riders endured whipping cold winds and sub-zero night temperatures to wr ap up the season and decide the Number One plates in a cou ple of classes. The course, acc ord ing t o many rid ers was pretty bad. The ch ief co mplaints were that it was too short and didn't have enough variety. Much of the course wa s composed of talcum powder slot-car tr acks. But despite th e weather and course conditions, the Buzzards carried off the organizational part very well, with a few injuries or disqualifications. The Tryillbikes started off the day and on th e Novice side , No. 260T led the first loop. But L. Ishman (Suz) came from fourth up to the lead. R. Kiker (KTM) and K. Miller (Suz ) rem ain ed in second and thir d all the way tli rough the race. On the other side of the road, Bruce . and Charlie Hamill Ogilvie (H-D) (KTM) swapped the lead back and forth between themselves all the way, with Ogilvie finally co min g out on top. Hamill and Marc Cartwright (KT M) were in next. Mitch Payton (Hod ) led the Amateurs for two loops, but a cr ash on the last lo op and a thrown chain gave Mike Patchenbeat usual winner Mark Zoller for f irst 250 Amateur honors. ~'d\ - ~ a ""'" 0 ~ ~ o ~~ ~ w Q. • 0 ~ ~ .~ " m~ -I~ ~ ~~ >- 0 l-< ~ tJ) m ~ ~ C':l ~ -I z o @ ~~ ~ tJ) tJ) w c ~ tJ) tJ) G G ~ ~ m ~ ~ ~ 0 Z G ~ tJ) w ~ • ~ ~ ~ Santa packs ~ of Petttocbem ~ u ~ ~ 0 ~ ma~ ~ ~ ~tstoeking ~ ~ ~ stuffettS! tJ) Z O _ ~ 0 What other gift could you put in his Christmas stocking for him and his mot orcycle othe r tha n a four-pack of high performance products fro m Petrochem.
