Gary Chandler did ge t top time of 6.7 5 on his 750cc T ri um p h with his first run in the 1500 class. The only other person who even cam e close to his time was Cleve Martin on his 360 Bultac o . Cleve set a time of 6.96 seconds in the 500 class on his las t ru n. He bought Chandler's o ld bike -an d too k the best parts t o use o n his bike. It seem s he has . really hit on a good comb inatio n even if he does have to have so meone p ull him to get it started most of the ti me . With the close of the championship season near, interest in who is on top is high. In the 200 class there are four riders still in contention for first. Norris Meeks has 39 points with B.D . Westerfield, Tommy Elkins and Sunny Holmes all within seven points. All of them ride 200 Bultacos and it's always a toss-up. Sunny was the only one of the four over th e hill today while the rest had trouble on the lower part. He also took home first on his 100 Kawasaki. Norris was seen back at the hill after it was over, practicing his takeoff. • Re sults in Results Se ction.
