.• III II ~ E Bret Noble (Pen) didn't miss a lick all day, leading all 20 laps of the Open Pro class. Kansas-bound Expert Eugene Tom was pushing Noble for two laps of moto one bu t a dangling brake rod finally grabbed hold of a few spokes to end it for Eugene. Lon Lewis c am e out in second overall with his rides of three-two. Af ter a Mini A restart, An dy Yarrington called the shots in moto two for hal f a lap , th en first moto winner Phil Larson gra bbe d the lead for awhile. Then Auburn 's Bill Rowland (Ho n ) de cided it was his turn and he held off Larson for two laps. Larson turned it on over th e Big BackJump and whizzed on by to finish out the last two laps of the day. U 0 FL McMorrow wins two at Cycleland By Donna Fowler CHICO, CAL., SEPT. 2 7 Bruce McMorrow (Bul) won both the 250cc Junior Scratch and Handicap main events tonight to capture th e onl y double win of the evening. Ron Arlt (Yam), a former Mini class Expert from Redding, turned in an impressive 250cc Novice performance. Ron, just turned Sportsman five wee ks ago , made his debut on a 250cc Yamaha. To nigh t he won the Scratch Main by an impressive lead and came back in th e Handicap Main to cop second pl ace . Not bad for a 14-year-old in his first Sportsman season. Tonight's ra ce wrapped up the 19 75 short track season at Cycleland after 2 2 weeks. The Winter Scrambles season will start around November 1 and will run through April. • CMC MX at Sunnyvale By Steve Castillo S UNNYVALE , CAL., SEPT. 28 You couldn't ask for a better race than in th e 125 Pro race. Th e class was small with o nly about five riders, but th e proverbial blanket · would have fit over them with ease. Action started with Glenn Jennings pulling th e rest ' of th e field. following Jennings were Chris Gre wer (Hon) and Mike Hersman (Ho n). Gre wer ap p lied th e pre ssu re and shot by af ter Jennin gs spun ou t in th e loose ro cks. Also on th e move up was Mike Am aral (Ho n) who started o u t dead last. After working by Hersman and Dan Dobbins (Hon) Amaral star ted to p ress Grewer fo r first place . It too k Amaral on e lap to get aro und Grewer . Dan Dobbins was also catching his second wind as he blasted by Hersman an d Gre wer to chase af ter Am aral . On th e last two laps it looked like Dobbins co uld pull it off, but Am aral shut th e doo r. Mike Hersman left everybody else to eat his du st at t he st art of th e second moto .
