It's the same sto ry of total dom inat ion that's been told on the circu it all summer long. Harley-Davidson simply swamped the competition qualifying 11 of the 20 starters and tak ing 7 of the first 10 spots. Number One was team rider Rex Beauchamp. He not only wiped out the old meet record , but set a new time trials record for the track of 38:21-averaging 94.22 mi les per hou r! Right behind came Jay Springsteen to take second. Fourth and fifth belonged to Corky Keener and Gary Scott-who cinched the #1 plate with an unsurpassable point lead . Number six was team veteran Mert Lawwill , wh ile Tom Berry and Dave Aldana came in seventh and eigh th. And so ended another history-making event by Harley-Davidson.
