SE PT . 2 1 It see ms as tho ugh every time Bob Balen tine sh ows up at the DRA , he wins overall and thi s weekend 's 60 -m iler at Adelan to was no ex ception. At the start , it was Wayne G arrett (400 Y a m ) leading, follo wed by Am ateur Dean Miller (25 0 Yam ). Garrell is usually in the lead when he brea ks an d he w as leadi ng when he threw the chain. Balentine (4 0 0 KTM) h ad o nly a fair start an d started wo r kin g his way up, acco mp anied by Bill Co nro y (400 CZ) . Conroy seized and it wasn't lon g before Balentin e was pas t everyone , ex cep t Miller . Wh en the two riders came in to si gh t o f the p it s, Balentine moved aro u nd Mille r an d too k th e lead . Other than so me minor switc hing aro und in th e pits, Balen tine was home free, taking the ove ral l win. with nearl y a minute to spare . Miller su ffere d a fla t tire on t he second loo p bu t his runne r-up spot was secure. Exc ep t fo r t wo DN Fs, Dean h as fin ished every race as first Am ateu r sinc e he transferred to th e class in J uly . Third and fourth went to th e 29 Palm s duo.
