Frankie Juhan from Vancouver,
B.C. and Gary Bade from Olympia
battled it out at speeds in excess
of 175 mph . Juhan set the fastest lap
time of the day with one minute 23.9
seconds o n the way to winning the
Open GP race with , his new 75 0cc
Yamaha. Gar y Bade to ok sec o nd o n his
TZ 700.
In supporting races Bill White from
Seattle won both the Open Cafe class
a nd the Open Pr oduction class o n his
9 0 0 K aw a s ak i. Ge ne Brown from
Portland won th e 500 Production class
and the 5 00 Cafe class, then placed
secon d in Op en Pr oduction with his
co mp le tely stock RD 3 50 Yamaha.
Steve Sch eafer from Seattle won the
12 5c c GP Single class on his super fast
Kawasaki. 'Mister Smooth' Ron Fuge re
won the 125cc GP Multi class.
Diane Cox enter ed her 125 Suzuki
b u t broke down after the first he at ,
while in second place.
Mike Budshat won th e 250cc GP
Single class on his Du cati. Gary Bade
an d Bru ce Lind won the 250cc Multi GP
and 251 ,500cc GP respectively .

A pair o f Delacy brothers copped
both feature events in tonight's
Semi-pro Pilot Program short
track. Rick Delacy led wire to

wire from the re st art afte r Rodger Slack
got off . down the b ack st raigh t,
eliminating Brian Brown with a broken
hand, Rod Spencer with the willies and
Slack with a bent Boss racer. Rocky
Malynn tried to keep within distance of
Delacy 's YZ 360 but had h is hands full
of little Tony Alves an d Don Bailey.
Scott Pearson kept his overall chances
alive wi t h a fifth while Mike Faria took
sixth.
Faria still leads in the ove rall points
both here and in the District but with a
season that goes from January to
November, an ything can happen.
Randy Mamola sa w six points go
down the drain in the ?50 Expert Main
when he lost his s ti n ge r /m uffl e r
assembly. Despite the fact that he
wasn 't black flagged, he was disqualified
fo r not finishing the race with all the
equipment he started with. This gave
the win to Mike Delacy with a fine
finish for second by luckless Dave
Nazzisi. On ce again , Fari a kept things
alive with a third over Jim Mertens who
still is a little groggy from a horrendous
highside here three weeks ago .
Ron Sh afer broke from t he pack
early in the 3 6 0 Junior and slid his
Astro to an easy win ove r Hank Rivera
who is finall y ge t ting used to the Erv
Kanemoto Ka wasaki while Bill He rman t
proved th at hi s lu ck isn't always bad b y

Thompson and Louie Mazur for the 12 5
Junior win and Thompson 's first loss.

the comers better than the competition
while Larry Kruseman edged in t o the
last troph y position in both 80 and 100

less than a foot in the 100 and by ab o u t
a foot over Blair Newell in th e 80 .
