CRC MX DeAnza By Gus SUN·NYMEAD , CAL., AUG ., 31 California Racing Club staged the first of three events in the DeAnza Super Series with three foot trophies going to class winner in which there are at leas t five riders at the end of the three wee k period. Minis were the first to go with Chris Bridges leading the first moto. Chris found hi mself eating dirt, after taking a jump sideways, allowing Butch Roberts (Yam) to take over for the finish, David Baker (Yam) got by for second but Bridges regained composure and pulled across in third. Baker picked off the next two motos easily, Roberts h eld tight for second and Tony Barbacovi (Hon) moved up in to third. Richard Braga (CZ) was uncontested during the 250 Intermediate class, while Dennis Hazelett (Yam) took top money in the Open/Expert class as he edged out Rich Arrietta (Yam) in the last moto, Gary Scheidler (Yam) gassed it to a 125 Intermediate win with BiIl Taylor (Yam) taking second and Tyrone Brown (Hon) third. Doug McGowen (Suz) won both 125 Expert motes, Marty Miller (Hon) was second. L G. Hearn (Yam) took the Veteran class win by only one poin t over hard charging Dale Brown (CZ), John Wilson (Hon) was third. Last fling before school By Elaine Jones CORONA, CAL., SEPT. 3 Mike Minnig put it all together for the 250cc Expert IT and Expert single Half-Mile . win. The real dicing was between AI Glover and Mike Tidwell, with AI getting the nod for the second spot, TIdwell third. The half-mile was " instan t replay " only this time it was TIdwell capturing second, leaving Glover with third. Novices had a double winner with Ted Dann taking the lion's share in 250 Novice "IT Division II and half-mile. It was follow-the-leader on the "IT with Cal Wangri
