Tim Abshie (Yam) snuc k thi rd pl ace away from Dugan, but Ron still managed to pull through with a thi rd overall. Both Rees and Baird took ho m e trophies with th e' top honors go ing to David , Chris Minor, one of the top riders in the 100 Beginner/Novice class, took the chec kered in all three mo tos. That kid really knows h ow to get his Yamah a round th e track. David Pier ce (Kaw), a first time o u t Beginner , did a pretty good job of it as he took second ove rall. Pierce was th e fourth man acro ss the finish line in th e first moto and rode like a ch am p the second time out to ta ke the sec o nd spot away from Henry Miller . Miller and Pierce switched places in th e last race, with Miller taking sec o n d behind Minor. Ron Dugan took the special Novice race to h eart, Du gan rode hi s Husky to seco nd pl ace in th e first round, b ut mi ssed the nex t moto an d came bac k after h is disappearance to win the las t race an d th e troph y. Donald Hoyt from Costa Mesa was th e fro n t ru nn er in th e firs t race, He ro d e an o th er gre at race th e sec o nd tim e out, but di dn ' t sho w fo r the las t moto.
