I figu red after fo ur years in District 3 7 th a t it was about time to find o ut what th is organ ization had to offer an d, hey , was I sllrp rised. The co m m ittee meets on th e second Thursday of every calen dar mon th at the Los An geles Poli ce Academy which is adjacen t to Do dger Stadiu m . Th ese partic ular me e tin gs are he ld so th at riders can protest o t her ri d ers ' a c tions or the club sp o ns or ing an event. What surprised me most the othe r evening was an amazing lac k of presence. That is, after m illing aro un d a t the C RC rac e and listen ing to every kid an d his father snivel there were on ly th ree th a t had enou gh in terest t o go ' t hro ugh prop er chann els an d get so me th ing d one abo u t it. CRC is n o w on proba tion p endin g the o utco m e of their Grand Prix in Sep te m ber . Ano t he r popular cry of late has co ncerned " Ch eck Seve n" a t the recent ARMC Har e an d Hounds. Onl y one ride r who became d isqualifi ed fo r mi ssin g th at ch ec k has been re instated with ful l poin ts because he sho wed in terest eno ugh to pro test it . Ph ooey to all th e rest of yo u for n ot even caring . A l tho ugh a blanke t reprieve was discu ssed, t he Board fe lt th at suc h apathy warranted no ac tio n on th eir part . Mom h as subsequ ently raised hell wi th th e 100's refe ree and presid ent ever since.
