Stinnett takes
T-Car minis

Bob Stinnett had it all together in
the Mini Division at T-Car . With
.his usual hard riding and racc
savvy hc has dominat ed the 80 cc
class. The ra ce was a co m bined class of 60,
80 and 100cc riders with Stinne tt ta king
a first in th e 80 class an d second overall
for the co mbined clas s. He cam e bac k in
the second and deciding moto in h ot
pursuit o f 100 Expert rider C.B .
Hodges. It looked like C.B. had it in the
bag, when o n the whi te flag Hodges lost
it in th e straigh t before the waterhole
an d wen t down. Stinnet went by him
and too k the fin ish jump for the Mini
over all win.
The 80cc Junior riders were really
putting o n a race with Frankie Zubeita
and Mike Darby battling it out and
tr ading lead s back an d fo r th , both riders
trying to pu t th e pressu re on each other.
On the last lap Frankie tangled with a
slo we r rid er and went down, so Dar by
won the firs t moto,
Fran kie was going to try an d sw it ch
it around fo r th e las t moto, On th e start
it was Zu be ita in the lead and Dar by
chewing at his rear fender. Again th ey
traded the lead back and forth lap afte r
lap. On th e third to last lap Darby
started to tum it on in the hopes he
could los e Frankie. But Frankie wasn 't
letting him out of his sight. On th e
wh it e flag lap co ming up to the finish
jump it was Darby in the lead w ith
Zubeita makin g th at last hard charge to
try and ou t-jump h im at th e finish. But
Darby h eld hi m o ff.
