Mulholland . We: find this very
misleading. Actually the first ove:rall
machine: ridde:n by Bruce Ogilvie: and
Larry Roessler which also was first in
the 250cc Division and referred to as a
"Te:am Mulholland" machine: , was
equippe:d with long travel Curnutt
shocks in th e: rear. Th e: fact is, it was
e:quippe:d only with Mulholland forks.
The second machine ove:rall was Andy
Kirker on a 250 Yamaha and third
ove:rall first in the: 500 Division, Al
Bake:r and Gunnar Lindstrom also
e:quippe:d with long travel gas Curnutts
in the: rear. Second 500cc machine was
that of Bill Conroy and Kevin Hasten
( T e: a m Mulholl and) who we:re:
comple:tely Mulholland outfitte:d. This
was the: only te:am capitalize:d on in an
almost clear cut manner,
We: arc: extremely disappointe:d by
this type: of adve:rtising and hope: your .
readers can now see: th e re:sults the way
the:y actually were,

I must reply to George Roche: 's
ven omous, unwarranted attack on
myself and my son in the: July 15 issue:
of Cycle News, Voices of the: We:st.
It should be: pointe:d out that last
ye:ar Mr. Roche signe:d a contract with
me: to race: a 1:Z 700 at my exp ense,
The:n he: crashe:s my bike and says
hostile things about my son, who works
in my restaurants to pay for his racing.
Mr. Roche: complains about
inte:llige:nce:. Surely he, himself, is no
genius to write: such a stupid letter,
And I ne:ve:r even talk ~o John Ulrich.
