According to a survey by the leading cycle magazine , dirt and racebike sales outstripped road models for the first time in 1974. Racing and dual-purpose (enduro) motorcydes took 55% of the market , wh ile pure roadsters made on ly 45% of new-bike sales. Cycle News predicted th is would happen ten years ago. Now BIKER magazine is predicting it will swin g the other way. That's right, beginning in April of 1976, Newport Enterprises will syndicate the races from Costa Mesa on 125 stations throughout the country.
