Day two and moto th ree it was J o dry with the hole shot and no o ne near him fo r a clean first by a lo ng way. Sandretto was nex t across the lin e with no challenge rs fo r second. The race was fo r th ird and final ly we nt to Fran klin who had co me up fro m ninth . In the final m o to San dretto got the ho le shot, lo sin g it to Fran klin who main ta ined the lead th e rest of the way. June 28 Satu rd ay 's GP racing p ro duced so me surprises p articula rly in the 250 GP Twin class and the 500/0pen ' G P co mbined races. As a result of a light drizz le in the second 250 Twin heat. o nly six bikes finishe d after 22 started. The o ther 16 riders either crashed or p ulle d into th e pits . Luc k ily , the re were no serious injuries. The ne wly organ ized 250 single cy lin de r G P class seems to have caugh t on fair ly wel l in th is area. Co mprised m ostl y of modifie d di rt m ach ines, this class was co mpletely dominated by a see m ing anachro nis m; a 19 6 6 Du cati. Th is little th u mper won all three heats go ing away.
