Hondaline Riding Suits By Charles Morey One of the best things that you can say about any product. is that there's nothing wrong with it. Complaining is basic to human (Above) Heavy-duty elbow pads. Excep t for this tim e . We tried o ut Ho ndaline 's tw o rid ing suits , for st re et and w oods usc. and were unab le to detect any flaws , o vers igh ts o r even a "we'd -rather- they 'd -have -done-it -an o t her -way." The t hi ngs ar e d arn go od! The t w o suits are nearly iden t ical, except for t he streeter b eing red and th e wo odser b eing bl ue and the st ree t jac ket having a heavier quilted (w arm er ) lining. Both jackets are mad e from a nylon material tha t's waterproof. One tester made several runs o n his road bike in the in famo us Atlanta winter rain an d swears th at no t o ne d rop o f m o isture reached his b ody . T he suits , accordi ng to Ho nda, are mach ine was hab le o r dry clean ab le, alt ho ugh o ur m ale cha uvinist minds d idn 't a llow us to carry o ur test t hat far. A total of six pocket s of various sizes and usages can b e fo und o n th e jackets . Besides th e fo ur front pock ets, feat uring wat erproof fold -o ver flap s wit h bot h Velcro an d sna p fastene rs , t here's also '. an insi de chest p ocket and a wide " ma p co m pa rt men t" ac ross th e b ack at wai st level. Imp ressi ve is th e word b est ch osen to describe t he elb ow pad s. . .the th ings are a full q uarter inch thick and app ear that th ey 'd be h and y in the even t you ever wind up usin g the m as lan d in g st ru ts. The jacke t b elt sports a reflect ive st rip o n o ne side as a visib ility aid for nigh tt im e stree t cruising. A snap kee ps it fro m ge tting lost w he n unb uck led . Th e d o ub le jacket zip pe r all ows th e wearer to zip it up fro m th e b ottom, either to get at his p oc ket change o r to make th e lo ng jacket mo re co m fo rtab le in th e sea ted riding positi on . T he pan ts for b o th sui ts appea r id entical ex ce pt fo r colo r. T hey h ave elast ic w aist bands with snap adj ust m ent f or s i ze. The ankles sport Velcro f a st e n ed s t ra ps t o wr ap a ro und p rovid in g a sn ug fi t . V ar io u s co mb inat io ns of waist and leg size are ava ilab le. H ond a ' s s uggeste d li st for the garme nts is $54 for the jacket and S36 fo r the p an ts.
