Sandhi ll Ran ch .

front in the first m o to , l\lacDann ald was
ba ck in about fourth . Two laps later
Neil had m ove d within striking di stance
o f Preston and. when l\lacDannald is
cha rgin g fo r first place: little stands in
his way. That included Preston, as he
swooped by t o take over the Ie:a d and
even tually the win . Preston finished
. second, not bad but no t what he
wanted.
Mike Her sm an (Hon) was the: star of
the second moto as he b las ted away
leaving several startled Pr os sitting .

Hersman ju st held it open and with
MacDannald far behind at the star t he

MacDannald tried, but the distan ce was
just too great to try to m ake up and he
settled for se:cond. Alo ng w ith hi s first
m o t o win MacDannal d won overall with
secon d goi ng to Mike Hersm an . Prest on
finish ed third in th e second moto and
third overall.
MacDannald was the winne:r of the
250 Pro class hand s down. No one eve n
got close in the two 20 m inute p lus two
lap mo to s.
Bill Johnson (YZM) provided Neil
with some action early in th e first moto.
Bob Myers, no w ridin g a new Maico ,
was doing well running in third. Back
fu rther Chris Gre we r and Bill Roush
(Yam ) had so m e ro cks flying as the:y
m ixed it up for fourth pl ace. They
finished in that o rd e r with l\lacDannald
at leas t 10 seconds ahead at the flag.
