And j ust to show it can be do ne, o ne of last years Trail aces ridin g an Open Mono Terry Rae was team ed up wit h Husky rider Mall Zoerb for fif th overa ll and second Op en . Th e n ext rider to co me in was A ma te u r St ev e S hoo k (Mono) . Following th em in we re Ama teurs Bud Ada ms . an d j o e -\I'esselman o n their Open ~ Io nos, and rounding it out 101 thi rd Open Amateur the team of Ro n Hurtig and Den n is Cline (Monos) . Right behind were a few more Div, II Experts, Frank Keepers (Hus) and "Maxed" Eddie (Pen) and to clean it u p in their class Kei th lI art (Mo n) . The Trai l class today was smoked by 1\larc Cart wright (Pen) , with Ro bert Meyers (KTM) pulling in fo r second. In the Amateur Trail class it was a deserving young rider, "Little Joe" Lockart (Pen) . For the Novices it went like t his sixteenth overall t he team of Ken Miller (1\ lono), first 250 and his part ne r Gary Sta men (Mo no) firs t Open. Second Open we nt to the team of Dan ny Pierce (Bul) and " Slow Poke " Sin sle y (Mo no) and with jus t a fe w bikes bet ween them th e next Ope n riders the tea m of Bo b Carrol and Fred Col e b oth o n Mon os for th ird. In Sundays action the race was so mething t ha t Dist ric t riders have never experienced. it was a te am race fea turing a Le 1\ lans start.
