It was midnight before installation of a new pump was co mpleted and even then the pressure was below par. With the d ust problem growing worse as the day wore on a vote was taken at the end of the second moto and the riders opted to pack it up at two . Mini riders Mike Jones and Billy Parker have become real rivals here and both had one wire to wire win. Jones heJd the edge but both yearned for a . thiJod moto battle.. _ . . ... 30 . Yahoo ! Who 's the showboater? ews orth Jami Denton led the first 125 Junior race until his bike gave out with two l::~5 to go. He was not able to return . Mike Johnson (Y<:!!!) took over the lead when Denton dropped out and came back to lead all the way in round two. Bob Pieretti (Suz) gained second via two-three finishes, All Intermediate classes ran together. Lewis Swan (BuI) came from dead last to finish second and added a win for the 250 win. Go rd on Clapp (Hon) picked up another 125 first and Dennis Hucke (Yam) topped the Open class. The Open J uniors mixed it up pretty we ll. Jo hn Christen sen (Bul) led wire to wire in the firs t race and came back from a mid-p ack start to finish th ird for first ove rall. John Leitz (Hus) sewed up secon d with a ' fo urth and a win. Steve Lewis (Bu l) took third the first moto bu t a DNF put h im out of it. Barney Newman (Uus) too k the Open Pro win. Medford TT By Lynne Diltz MEDFORD, ORE., J UN E 13 Practice did not get underway on the banked oval of the Medford Speedway at 6:30 but no one minded. At that time it 's still too dam warm in the big valley. The track was s-l-i-c-k and it was Friday the 13 th for so me o f t hose riders. This track is definitely no t for t he faint-hearte d anyway, and it too k a to ugh Bill Davis to even get back to watch the races, after h is t u mble. Bill, a 100 class ride r was cram med (literally ) in to th e conc re te retain ing wa ll in his heat race. His head and sh oul der p unched a hole in t he wire fence. Bill 's right arm was p ut in an inflatable cast and Bill was take n to a hospital where x-rays revealed a large piece of fence wire close to the bone.
