Motorcycles of Riverside and David
Jenkins spo nsored by Dad, who is
Jenkins Hot Shoes, showed the st uff
that Amateurs are made of as they took
it down to the wire in the half- mile go.
David got off on top with Terry in
hot pursuit. Jenkins started building a
lead that looked as if it would hold bu t
on lap fou r McCreery took a chance and
it paid off and the lead was his and with
it the win . Eddie Drake was in for the
third. Eddie fared better on the TT
which is more to his liking as it was
again David Jenkins who had the
bridesmaid honors.
John Allison had the fans on their
feet with some trick riding in the Open
Expert TT. In the Semi John had bike
problems and got off in last . But by lap
four he was ru n ning first .
The half-mile 750cc Expert class
looked like it was shaping up to be quite
a d uel between J ohn and Scott Smith,
Scott had wo n the Semi, bu t when it
was time for th e Main Sco tt was still in
the pits. Denny Aguirre tried to hold up
his end but he o nly had a 350cc. He did
man age to ge t by once bu t the lead was
short lived as John to o k over once again
for the win.
Mike the Machine Tidwell rode four
classes plus o ne for fun and went home
with th ree firsts and one th ird . lIe wo n
the 125cc and 250cc Amateur/Expert
TT and th e 250 cc Expert half-mile, with
his biggest challenge co ming fro m
Gordie Kidd on the half-mile go .
Mike 's on ly defeat came in the Open
