Lane Campbell SCENE: WORLD SPEEDWAY Autrey & Gresham make speedway marks Scott Au tr ey, 22-ye ar-old blo nd California speedster. has signed a three year con tr act with British League club Exeter which rules out any quick return to the American racing scene. Au trey, now in his th ird British season and ranked am ong the top dozen racers in the fier cely co m pe titive British League , has purch ased a house in the Dorset co un try side and will re main with le ague champ io n s Exeter at least un til the end of the 19 77 season . Autrey is o nly the second rider in British League hist ory to be offered terms for three seasons and the first fore igner to do so. Following the cont ract sign ing Autrey said : "Now I can con centrate on the Wor ld Championship. "I'm determined to try and be come America's first Wor ld Champion since the days of the Milne brothers and the onl y way I can do it is if m y future is settled.
