After Clint Palmer too k Match Ra ce win ner Ge ne Wo o ds in the Divis io n II Main, the finals were next. The Handicap Main had Shaw and Sivadge on th e 20 . That 20 yard separation stayed throughout the event, but it was Fishback who made it aro un d th e zero es to stash away his sec o nd win of t he year. Sivadge rode fro m th e 20 to sec o nd along with Sh aw to third. Steve Bast p ulled o ut earl y in th e Scra tch Main after Steve Nutter crashed . Schwartz moved into second and tried to do g Bast but co uld not find an o pe n ing and wound up second o ver Woods. The other twist on th e night 's program came in the Match Race when Rick Woods was mat ched against his bro ther Gene. The crowd decided t he handicap Rick was to get and it resul ted in 50 yards. In two laps , Rick j ust m issed by five yards, whereupon he as ked for an other try. He go t his wi sh and lost agai n fro m the 50 by about seve n yards .
