VOLUME 57 ISSUE 24 JUNE 16, 2020 P47 Wednesday and Sunday, to clinch the title at the next round, which is another Wednesday race. Tomac now leads Roczen by 24 points, and there are 26 points up for grabs at each race. The 250SX West class got back to action Wednesday and Sunday which produced a lot of bumping and grinding both days. When the push- ing and shoving was over, it was Austin Forkner (Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki) who was still standing both times. Forkner is chipping away at Dylan Ferrandis' points lead, which has slipped to just seven with one more race to go. Anderson crashed out of Sunday's race. Nine points now separate Barcia from Anderson. THE OTHER COOPER Justin Cooper's chances of earn- ing the 250SX West number-one plate have pretty much vanished. He came into Wednesday's race right in the hunt, but two non- podiums since have severely hurt his chances. Technically, he's still in contention but he's now 17 points out of first place. A bad start Sunday resulted in a devas- tating (for him) sixth. "I got a ter- rible start in the main, which really hurt me," Cooper said. "It made it really tough to come through the pack, and I was just not aggres- sive enough to get by the people that I needed to in the early laps. I can't expect to be up front battling when I start outside the top 10." FASTER THAN EVER One rider who seems to have stepped it up a notch over the long 250SX West break is Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Cameron McAdoo. He finished on the podium Wednesday and almost did it again Sunday. "I worked really hard during the downtime with the team, my trainer Nick Wey and Adam Cianciarulo, who is arguably one of the best riders in the 450SX class," McAdoo said after Wednes- day's third place. "I was so excited and ready to get back to riding, and even more excited to grab another podium. That's my second career podium." Briefly... (Left) Zach Osborne (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) continues to ride well. He ran third for much of Wednesday's race, and then he moved into second and stayed there after getting around Roczen. Osborne finished fourth on Sunday and is eighth in the standings, just three points out of seventh which is held by his teammate Dean Wilson.
