IN THE WIND P28 Inaugural Yamaha R3 bLU cRU FIM European Cup Canceled Y amaha Motor Europe is forced to cancel the maiden edition of the 2020 Yamaha R3 bLU cRU FIM European Cup for riders 12-years-old and up due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, but plans to go ahead with the series in 2021. The series was set to run alongside eight rounds of the Su- perbike World Championship in 2020, following a collaboration between Yamaha Motor Europe, FIM Europe and Dorna WSBK Organization (DWO) supported by JiR (Japan Italy Racing). Travel restrictions and the nec- essary Covid-19 safety protocols, which would have heavily impact- ed the coaching aspect integral to young riders, together with concerns over increased person- nel at WorldSBK rounds were the major factors in the difficult decision to cancel the series for this year. Yamaha has said it committed to running the Yama- ha R3 bLU cRU FIM European Cup at its full 36-grid capacity during the 2021 season. CN No bLU cRU R3 racing for the kids this year.
