ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE
A PLACE CALLED MURDERER'S GULCH.
It happened on Monday, the 26th of May.
On the north fork of the American River
in Northern California. In a place called
Murderer's Gulch.
Some called it the second National Trials.
Others called it one of the most difficult trials
in the world.
Of the 54 starters, about half finished.
Team Honda came in first and second.
Riding identical factory-prepared Honda
trials bikes, a mere two points separated winner
Mark Eggar from runner-up Marland Whaley.
The day included a blazing sun,
incredible cliffs, bike-jarring rocks and
hazardous streams to be crossed.
The Honda trials bikes took them all in
stride : Built to last and built to perform over the
best (and some of the worst) nature can dish out.
The Honda ITs. The world's only fourstroke trials machines .
Proving to the competition that only the
strong survive.
And Murderer's Gulch got its name
.for a reason.
