With only two weeks left in the
CMC Spring Motocross Championship Series at Irwindale Raceway,
there is still a two-way tie for first
place and the choice of an XR 75 o r an
MT 125 (co urt esy of Long Beach
Honda).

160 poin ts each are Dan '
Hendrie ks and Don Miller. Both won
agai n tonight. Hendricks, who started
the series as a 125 Junior. had made th e
adj ustm en t to Intermediat e perfectly.
Miller is still a 125 Junior.
In Pro ac tio n . Don Bongiorno won
his first 125 Pro overall in a long time,
coming
from
behind after early
contender David Taylor blew an en gine
in the second moto. Taylor won the
first. Dave Pessy, seeking his 89 th career
win, tied Bongiorno on moto points
with six but his th ird in t he fm al race
was not eno ugh to o u tdo Don 's first .
Third overall went to Rob Zamora . his
first showing in the money this year a t
Irwindale.

Morgan Malocco led the race from
beginning to end, capturing his
first overall win at the DRA Tom
Strong Memorial Run .
The nice was held to benefit the
wid ow of the late racer, (two
dollars from every entry wen t to
her), and featured the usual $300

recover, but a large bush sat him down.
