Held in Belpre, Ohio, May II , an estimated crowd of 6,000 watched Team Honda riders Marty Smith and Pierre Karsmakers top 32 of the best ride rs from the East and West. In the first 30-minute mota, Smith got the holeshot and took the checkered-flag. Karsmake rs finished second. The second 30-minute mota saw Smith 'come from second to take and hold the lead to the finish. Kars makers came in a strong fourth.
