Northern California ace Danny
Turner (Hon) paid a visit to the
Carlsbad 125 Pro class and proceeded to take the class.

At the start of the first m oto, Turner.
in fourth place, trailed Marty Moates
[Hon ], Tony Wanket (Hon), and Mike
Bell (Hon). Turner made his move on
lap three and moved into second.
Turner could not catch Mike Bell, who
co mpletely ran away from the field. Bell
took an easy first while Turner placed
second. Tony Wanket held on to third
after dr op p ing back.
Ric k Bean (Hon] took the lead at the
start o f the secon d m oto , Bell, who was
in second. passed Bean an d op ened up a
sizeable quarter of a lap lead . Turner
had to rea lly work to catch Bell afte r
starting in fifth. By the third-to-last lap
T urner had moved into second and
within striking distance of Mike Bell. On
the second to last lap, Turner passed
Bell on the uphill. then took the wins
and the overall victory.
Dave Maas (Hon) dominated the 125
Intermediates in both motos. In the first
race he m oved from seven th t o first in
seven laps . Second m oto , Maas once
again had his work cut out for him. On
lap six. after starting in seventh place.
he pas sed second place Sh errill and then
leader Peter Wan ket.
Val Tamietti (Mai) took his first
daytime win of the year, by f"mishing
third in the first 250 Pro moto an d fir st
in the final round. The first moto was
won by Bob Stem (CZ) with Ray
To pham sec ond.
