I had the staff take an initial look a t the Corona Raceway proper ty , which includes 255 acres, a race trac k an d buil di ngs . Their property to the north o f th e ra ce track has very high po ten tial for a small ORV park. At the time o f the investigation additio na l property called Rancho La Sierra, am o un ting to some 1700 acres to the north of the raceway . was found for sale . If a proj ect was pu t to ge th er incl uding the Rancho La Sierra property and the Lupari property . it would amount to abo ut 2,00 0 ac res wh ich co uld be made ava ilab le for ORV use. Th e Dep artrnen t has con tact ed the property o wn er an d is curren tly investi gat in g th e Ranc ho La Sierra prop erty . Th e proper ty owner in fa ct has indicated th at he m igh t be willing to donat e t o a public agency fr om one-third to one- half o f th e proper ly . Yes, California, there is a Club Council We noted with interest the letter from Laura Maddock and y our reply co nc erning " an all-embracing club co uncil," For over a year n ow the California Coordinating Council has existed. This is a council co m p osed of ; two represen tatives fro m eac h of th e four_ AMA districts in the State of California. This co uncil was fo rmed at' ou r request to o rgan ize state-wide efforts an d to handle statewide problems on a uniform basis. If y ou, Ms. Maddock. and o thers wish to help m o to rcy clin g you co uld do so through th e means and fac ilities th at are already avai lable , that is, the Am erican Mo torcycle Asso ciation, its four districts in California an d the California Coordinatin g Council.
