The hill section, fo r in stance , w as set at 12 mph wh ich was tortuously slow for the be tt er rid ers. Some who we re dressed for har d-work riding da mn near fro ze to death. One consequence of ultra-slow schedules is th at the time - keeping and layout must be ultra precise. At 12 mph a difference of 0. 2 mil es is equal to o ne minute. The Bultaco team protested the check in that sectio n as b eing o ne te nth of a m ile o ff. The Pro sp ect o rs, who were equally aware of the im portan ce of the sm all erro rs, accepted the p rotest and the S10 fee an d agreed to ta ke a mem ber of the Bultaco team out and show him tha t th e m ileage was righ t.
