Greenwood trial By Dennis Schreiter GEORGETOWN, CAL., JAN. 12 A private owner allowed PJ.T.S. to use 500 acres o n a trial basis (no pun intended) . It seems the low noise, slow speed, and no knobbies of trials is less offensive to land owners. The sections were very European with a wide choice of lines . All Expert, Amateur and Novice riders rode the same sections. The use of natural bou ndaries and natural obstacles prevailed througho ut the event. T he only thing missing was traction! The several wet sections, plus loose ro ck a nd mud gave all co n testa n ts a very slip pery ride. Lane Leavitt missed cle aning all 30 sections by one dab. Steve Darrow wasn't far behind with three points until a " five " in one section dropped h im to a total of eight. A really good show by Steve Darrow, breaking in a Yamaha, is clean so far in Trap Eight, as scorer fixes him with a rude Ital ian gesture .
