John Brumond and Da na Perri got off together as did Gibbs and Mitch Perri with K irk Tardiff someplace in between. All the while Faria was picking his way thro ugh the mess wi th Eklund and Tavis close in tow. The firs t four we re easy. Faria beat Eklund, Tavis and Miller b ut from there on it was a mess. In recounting the lap scorers' charts, Randy Gibbs turned u p the most num b er of complete laps with Perri and Tardiff behind. Rod Spencer was greeted with an Expert card for tonigh r's running but after close inspection of the point books alo ng with sponsor Frank Cancilla, the 65 points p ut the 125 J unior back into his class and he promptly went out and won it one more time to become the only rider to be as yet undefeated in h is class. Scott Pearson won the big bike Expert Main aboard a Sonny Kenyon 360 Bultaco with Pat Rose and Kirk King surviving that mob action race. A good battle for high point in the 100 Novice show is developing with Eddie Cabballero winning tonight's main over Julie Muehlman who was unhappy about something that transpired during the race and remember guys, a woman scorned isn't anyone to race with. • Becker scrambles to two wins By Rex Backman CHICO, CA L. , DEC . Beck er, e ntered in all three Expert classes almost swept them all only to lose the 125 class to speedway rider Paul Orlandi (Han). Becker had led the whole race only to lose out by inches over the finish line jump. .Io n Zimmerman (Han) took third and first Junior. Greg Ferguson took the lead at the start of the 250 Expert Main on a bo rrowed CZ followed by Becker (Pen) and Jerry Griswald (Mai) . A few laps later Becker was in the lead for good wit h Ferguso n ho ld ing on for second and J im Hubbard in third . John Alves put his Can-Am in fourth to take the firs t J unio r trophy over Jerry Griswald, who fell back after h is hot start. Delno had to overco me a bad start in th e Open ro und as h e was fourth in to th e first corner. After one lap , Les Lollar was o ut in th e lead o n his Maico with Becker second and Bill Calicura th ird o n h is th umper BSA . Loll ar and Beck er battled out for th e lea d fo r a few laps until Delno fin ally got by on lap fo ur . Delno took th e win fo llowed by Lollar, and Calicura hangin g on fo r th ird. Gary Ellis led the first laps o f th e 125 Novice Main until the duo o f Allen Shacklefo rd and Dick Crosby got past him. The two riders battled out for first the entire race, alm ost a repeat of their heat, where Crosby came out on top.
