Alex Jorgensen is a quiet winner.
On board a new 250 Can-Am from
his dad's showroom floor he
devastated the Experts in 'tha t
class so quietly that many didn't
realize that he was there, at least
not until he won. Duane Spence
gave a good a ccount of himself
but bailed trying to catch Jorgy.
In the Open class Butch Davidson
made quite a come back after being off
for quite some. time with a bum foot.
Riding a 450 Kawasaki, he made
absolute mince meat out of his Expert
competition. John Hlebo worked
around Duane Yarrow for the second
with Allen Yarrow taking the fourth
and a finn clinch on the 1975 Number
On e Black Plate.
Coming up a big winner in the
miniranks was Kevin Hugill winning his
first Open Novice mini event on his
14th birthday. In the 80 Expert Fred
Merkel cam e up the win ner one more
time as Brian Thompson wound up on
the sidelines after chasing him for
second.
