Ivan has just come over from England to campaign his Penton (KTM?) in t he Trans-Alvl A series . After relocating in the Sacramento area Ivan d e ci ded to get h is fi rs t taste of Am erican mo tocross. He mi gh t as we ll have been practici ng tho ugh fo r all t he co mpeti tio n he got. In both m otos he just jetted into the lead and never even saw the res t of the Open class field . In the othe r Expert classes it was Jim Turner '(Bul) back from his well-done efforts o n the National Championship scene p ulling the same stunts as Ivan to swee p both the 250cc and 125cc races. All the real dici ng wen t o n in the many Novice classes as nearly 400 of Bill Wh it e (Kaw) does so me creative hanging off and traffic-checking with a backd ro p of pines at Seattle's prim o ro ad circuit, them made it out to do battle against this rough track. The word must be getting around about this track because every race brings a bigger crowd. If it gets any bigger they're gonna have to install lights or something. In the 500s the hot race was between Bob Salvatore and Jon Nelson. Both of these guys have been racing this track for a while an d getting better at it all the time, but it was Bob's Husky that got there first whe n it counted. Jon's second was well received, tho ugh . as Jon rides fo r the Ridgerun ncrs. That he fou nd time to ride a t all is quite a feat consideri ng the am ount o f time he pu ts into preparing th e trac k. Pushing h is bike ac ross the finis h line for thi rd (literally!) was Tony Littman (Pe n) . The h o t ride r in the 250 No vices has to be Den nis Stapleton. Dennis has be en smoothing out lately an d is spe ndi ng his time winning instead o f crashi ng. Dennis rode to a fine win to day followed by Colin Robson o n h is Penton. Within the huge 125 Novice class is a young man who week after week leads this pack around ' without too much flash . HIs name is Mike Marquez (Han) and he did it again this week, although being pressured in the first mot o by Wesley Morrel (Pen). _ Re sults in Res ults Section. 'Scally scores By W. H.
