Ontario is right in Pat's bike's backyard - his sponsor's shop in Riverside is a scant twenty minutes away. ;) L !:::=:!':!!. ~ --' ~ Ontario's Heavyweight Production race will feature some of the real "heavyweights" of MIA Production racing. Here (above) at Laguna Seca, Steve McLaughlin (Kaw) leads Yvon DuHamel (Kaw 17) and Reg Pridmore (BMW 63) through turn seven of the first Open Production lap. They'll all be back together on the tarmac for Ontario, racing at 4:30 p,m. Saturday October 5. Joining the bunch will be other fast dudes like Bob Endicott (Kaw 110), Ron Pierce (BMW 97), Art Baumann (Kaw), Marty ' Lunde (BMW), Dale Alexander (Kaw), Fred Walti (Kaw). and Ed Unini (Hon). Pridmore (Below righ t), whose lines at Laguna were praised by DuHamel, could very well win it . Scca after Bob Tigert (Below) threw away his Harry Hunt Yamaha in the last turn of the last lap. Both Cooley and Tigert will be back battling at the On t a ri·o - Mot 0 r- Speedway-held Championship Spark Plug Motorcycle Classics, along with Tigert 's club-race nemisis, Scott Clo ugh (Yam). Bob won when t hey met in Portland for a $1,000 Oregon Motorcycle Road Raci ng Association race, and Scott won an A FM race September 8 run ning the same co urse as the National will use . Wit h experience on the shortened course and probably the fastest 350 in the field, Clough is a good bet to win unless so meone else gets more motor in a hurry.
