Sacramento dra ma In your September 10th Edition the Latest Poop Column makes reference to a bill befo re' the legislature concerning maxim um so und l e vels, entitled "Sacramento Drama." I wo uld certainly agree that it was a drama that co uld well have stop ped several mo to rcy cl e manu fact urers fro m selling their p rod uc t in Cali fo rn ia. However, the cre di t fo r resolving th e problem with the legislature was no t co mplete . Russ Sanford of M.O.R.E. certainly had a hand in the decision. However, credit sho uld be given to the M. AUB LeBARD President, C.~1.I.C . A while back, some friends and I decided to take a vacation an d go see th e great Evel Knievel jump the Sn ake. We carefully planned our ex pedition, sent for the $25 tickets, rented a motorhome, and got everything ready . We arrived the Monday before the jump. We all wondered if we were at the wr o ng place. A moto had just started and there - were five o r si x riders raci ng. Everyone working see me d to have the sa me answer to o ur questio ns: " I do n't know, ask the guy o ver th er e." Fed up with t he Mickey Mou se setup , we wen t upstate to do so me fishing an d returned Th ursday to wat ch th e hotshoes do it. I went to use th e porta potty but they had al l been b urned d own . I w ent ito ea t and all th e prices were doubled fro m earlier in t he we ek. I went to go to the launch p ad as the ticket says but co uldn't ge t near. Then Evel launched himself in to the canyon and did n't mak e' it and didn 't ~et hurt. Well, as far as I'm co ncerned (an d m y frie nds). th e whole thing sucks. It was poorly planned and po orl y executed and Evel rippe d o ff everyone there for $25 and the last laugh is o n us and everyone who was the re. Cy cle News . you were there, you know this is true.
