Spence and Danney Hogue wer e derb ying on the last turn of th e last lap af ter Hogue worked hard to get to second, when exiting th e .last tum to the checkered Hogue twisted th e wick to WFO , had to back o ut JUSl a bit because he got sideways an d lost the Main by just tha t much. A sim ilar happ ening occur ed in the 500 Ex pe rt Main with Kim Jorgensen doi ng most of the leading un til J ohn Hlebo broke from th e pack an d in some fancy moving, passed the Suzuki rider on t he rig ht hander after the jump and took the big win . Rod Pearson blew another 650 Junior but not as bad as last week. George Taylor got around early in the race instead of at the checkered and Pearson is going to have to practice not clutching it at the end. Dennis Souza took the big win in the 250 Expert class, as Pat Brown took off ano the r ni ght for some swimming and fishing fun. Vince Amaral took a good second from Duan e-Spence with Hogue on ce again right behind. Phil Howard once again took the 250 Junior main but he will have problems from newly turned Lynn George and a fast improving Chris Paulson, but then again. he may move to Expert before that happens. • Results in the Results Section. Ken and Jeff Koskie do father-son double win at Nevada Bogwheelers Trial By Mark Habbeshaw KYLE CANYON, NEV., SEPT. 8 The Nevada Bogwh eclers trials in the Mt, Charleston area near Las Vegas came after a break during the ho t summer mon th s. Jeff Koskie brought his Su zuki from California winning first Expert with 14 points after running 48 traps. Gordon Relyea, who recen tly moved to Las Vegas from the Denver, Colorado area rode to third Expert with 23 points• Mitch Miller. an ex-California racer, travelled from Cedar City, Utah to win first Amateur with 41 points after running the same traps as the Experts. Jeff's father, Ken Koskie, rode his Suzuki to first Novice with nine points to spare. Fra n Oldroyd (another Cedar City rid er ) won the Wome n's class w ith a grand total of one po in t after running 12 traps. Mitch Miller's son Andy. also fro m Ceda r City, to o k Kid 's class with th e high sco re of one p oint. T he YMCA . motorcycl e program , showing an interes t in t rials , ran eigh t kids in a separate class on mini bikes. Bill Barnett rode to first place. These kids showed good for m fo r their first exposure to trials riding. The tr aps, though not up to the Bogwheelers usual st andard of difficulty. were interesting and , more important, fun fo r all those who rode. Results in Results Section.
