T he first came in the 250 Expert Ma in us he look th e class af ter ear ly leader Rollen Eskew dropped out with bike problem s. T his is the third week in a ro w that Eskew has dropped o ut while in t he lead. Anybody know a good tuner for a Yamaha? Little Joe A llen won the 200 Expert Main fro m start to finish on his 125 Honda. beating out the larger Buls and Yarnahas. Jim Chadwick worked his way up through the pack to finish second and John Alves passed Jeff Damon on the last lap to take third. Chris Sauer was last into the first comer at the start of the 175 Novice Main but was in the lead at the end of the first straight as he went on fo r the win . Paul Martin got his third trophy in four races in his second place finish. Jeff Smith. the 250 Novice winner, led the first few laps of the 250 Handicap . but fell back as the Experts came up to put on the pressure. Jim Hubbard took over the lead and went on fo r his second win of the night. Ron Alves was riding hard. trying to catch up with Hubbard. but could not find the peed and finished second. Bob Hill was thi rd after a st rong ride . Mike Co leman led at first in the 360 Handicap. John Guglielmetti won the 250 Expert money race after a battle with Larr y Drew and one of the better speedway guys. Greg Ferguson. who just returned from a few months layoff with injuries. John the "G" came from fourth at the green to go around the outside of the conpetition for a well deserved win and a standing o va ti o n from the a udi ence. John Neuenburg and Craig Vandalealos did good jobs in passing from the back of the pack to take fourth and fifth, respectively. George Blankenship drove over from S acramento and took horne two trophies. winning the 3 60 Novice Main and taking second in the 250 Novice in a terrific race dicing with eventual winner Wayne Peter sen an d third p lace Jo hn Gomes. All three had the lead at least once during t he Main with Blan ke nship holding the majority of laps, but no t the crucial one. Brad is resting a sore leg before returning to the European scene for more Grand Prix actions where he is currently running 10th in the World points.
