In the 25 0 bash , Morrill st ar ted a nd led th e firs t lap but crashed o n th e seco nd giving J eff Col e the lead wh ich < Format ion flying at Fremont Marathon. / Rod Simas (271c, background) was double class winner. he and Vanderpool held for 15 lap s. On the 16 t h , Morrill got bac k from an eighth spot to lead the rest of that eve nt. Likewise for th e Cole Husky fini shing a lap down, jus t in fran t of th e Vickery brothers Bob & Jim. Mike Gonzales and th e so lo ridden Yamaha finished fo ur t h despite a lengthy gas stop one lap back of thi rd but a full lap in front of the Sievwright/Nickerson Honda. Larry Frey led out the 125 class closel y foll owed by Billy Risner (Hus) and the Hall o ck br others ( Ha n) . On the fifth lap , Jeff Hall ock took the lead and held it through th e 21st when Wayne Morrill's little br other Wes to o k ove r o n th e Ch arlie Shapir o fo ur stroke Honda. At th e half way po in t th e di ce got tough with Risner in fourth . Hall oc k's in third an d Tim Car lisl e/Jim Ingogl ia Yam ah a m ovi ng into t he lead for one lap as Morrill gassed a nd c ha nged riders. On the 40 th lap, the Hall o ck s m oved bac k into the lead an d began dici ng with ~Iorri ll /Shapiro. Twenty lea d c ha nges happen ed o n th e ne xt five lap s. It was ball s t o t he walls and II' FO . T he Hallocks hel d th e lead a t the 52nd lap but suc c umbed in a ride r ch ange a nd fini sh ed a bo u t 10 sec onds hack at the end of t he two hours.
