Walter Villa wins 250cc Dutch Grand Prix
...and leaves runner-up Yamaha
a distant 40 seconds in back!
***,

It was the second European 250cc
Grand Prix win for Villa and the
astounding RR-250. And it kept him
the leader in worl d competition
for the class.
Villa blazed through the
grue ling 76.7 mile World
Championship race held in Assen,
Holland in just 50:23 minutes while
averaging 91.3 mph to thoroughly
dom inate the field, finishing 40
seconds ahead of the 2nd place
Yamaha.
Earlier, Villa and the RR-250
made headlines with a resounding
win in the Italian Grand Prix. And
Gary Scott rode to a record setting
win on the RR-250 in this country
at Loudon.
Three big wins for two great
riders and a machine that doesn 't
seem to acknowledge any
comp etition.
The lesson to be learned is
that, when Harley-Davidson goes
racing- watch out!
We already hold 18 of 29
A.MA Grand National
Championships.
And the World's Land Speed
Record , too.
This takes men and machines
and experience. Plus a great deal
of pride.
