The first 250 Pro mota was restarted when they grabbed for the first comer with such greed that half of them piled up. Bill Cook (:'Iai) held the lead win: to wire when they got going. Chuck Sun (Bu l) held off Mitch Simmons (lI u s) in se cond for half the race before yielding and finding himself in the company of 1\lark Gregson again . Gregson crashed again - this time alone on the uphill stretch. :'Iatt james (:' Iai) moved to fourth and Bob Rush (Bul) moved up from a lo usy 17 th scratch to nah fifth . The second mota was headed all the way by Chuck Sun with Cook hold ing second . Sim mo ns was ru n n ing t hird w he n he seized . The most shock ing event of the night came in the 250 Expert when Pal Brown didn't win a nd didn't even finish the Main. Having graduated from high school on Thursday night, Pat was taking it easy while still wishing to do some racing fo r the summer , ! n the Main, Pat got a poor start and in attempting to work through the pack, got in a tangle w ith another rider and wound up out of the race wi th a bent shifter. .
