Brown scores scrambles fREMONT , CAL., APRIL 27 Pat Brown ca me to the 250 Expert post with a one for one win record in one night o f Fremont racing and as Mike VanLienden did last year, he went h om e with a tw o for two and a good start on the high point t ro phy for the season. If analogies and logic fit, then t he 17 ye ar o ld high school senio r sh a uld be th e District 36 co m m issio ne r for 197 5 , but Pat is o nly interested in havin g fun . So much for logic. Phil Anderson won the first heat over Brow n with Dennis Souza taking th e second over Joh n Proto . In the main i t was no contest after the third lap w hen Brown passed Mike Kunsman · at his fa vo ri te spot, going over the jump. Alan Wood (Hod) put it on the 125 J un io rs with Mark Murqy holding off Ran dy Mam ola. Wood remains as the only b ig kid in this class standing all of five feet eight inches at 145. Reall y big. eh what? Jerry Kole is b ack in action with his fa med 360 Yamaha th at wo n th e titl e here two years ago. He won the 500 Exp er t class over Mike Allen and curren t scram bles pain t leader Allen Yarrow, the ex-Blue plate motocrosser. Results in Re sults section. Short track opener fREM ONT, CAL ., A PR IL 26 Former National scrambles ace Jim Foley came ou t for his first night event in six months and hole sho t starter Mel Sturdahl for a win in the 360 Expert Main despite some good riding by Gary Orland and Manuel Dat an. Foley is still the best starter and despi te all 0 f Datan's ho rsepower, he held the post pos itio n for the 10 laps and the win . Datan had a try o n o ne lap but go t sidewa ys exi ting a turn and had to se t tle for the second . Orlando, in tum, made o ne mistake that kept h im to third with Chuck Miller co ming from a wa y ba ck to ta ke the last trophy spot, beating out a falte ring Bob Scally . Ran dy Mamola ea sily wo n the 125 Junior Main desp it e having a run in wi th Steve Carrillo . Carrillo led the show until his m achin e seized.
