Lionel Rocha, just 14 and up from the minicycles, was spectacular for 10 laps trying to pass Kirk Buttke fo r second in the 100 class. In the 250 Expert Scratch Main J im Hubbard (Yam) an d Greg Ferguson (Tri) went in to the first turn side by side. With Ferguson pressuring Hubbard the two riders collided. Ferguson got t he worst of it as h is Cycle Factory Triumph we nt down . Hubbard managed to stay u pright on his Yamaha and maintain his first place position while Dallas Turner (Yam) was working his way up through the pack after a poor start. Jeff Serick (Tri) and Turner diced for second p lace. T urner would pass Serick in the turns but lose the lead in the straight. On the final lap Turner took second place for good to fin ish behind Hubbard. The 200 Junior Main event was won by John Alves (Bul) who took over the lead on the second lap and kept it 'til the finish. Little Jeff Fowler on a Kawasaki was second with Nick Rabo in third.
