But it see med Mike began to relax too soon as l\tacDonald began to ch ar ge and got by the surprised Am aral in a hairpin turn. When Mike sa w thi s he got a littl e c h a r g e d up and took off afte r MacDonald in hot pursui t. They went at it di cing back and fourth for a bou t 6 laps. On the last lap of th e ra ce Amaral and ~lacD on ald were fighting to get by lapped riders wh en Amaral pulled ins ide o n MacDon ald, wh en th e tw o riders ca me out to gethe r on th e same lin e someb od y we n t down, it was Mar-Dona ld . He was up in seconds and still m aintained second. Good racing was in the 70-80cc Novice class as five of eighteen riders diced it out o n a crowded track. The lead changed m an y ti mes, and en ded in the hand s o f Chris Elliot (Hon) wit h Marvin Wood (S u z) second, Gay land Norton (Hon) thi rd , John Fra m pton (Hon) fo urth, and Troy Arnold (Suz) fifth . The 70·8Occ Am ateur /Expert proved exciting, wi th nine boys wheeling around a d ear track wi th great skill and speed.
