APR. 13 Since it was Easter Sunday this weekend, Maywood: M.C. thought it would be a good idea to hold a short Hare Scrambles on Saturday, glvmg the riders and pit crews plenty of time to get ho me and clean up before the Easter Hare arrived. This worked out great. It gave . you a day to reco ver before returning to th e grind o f work. In stead o f partying before the race , y o u could par ty afterwards. And Cordis Broo ks had a lo t t o ce lebrate, after winning the whole race wit h such a lead that the second pl ace rider co uldn ' t even see his du st . It was fitting th at a Bul shoul d win t he ver y fir st Bull Run and th at is wh at Co rd is was mo un ted on, a 25 0 Pursang. A .C. Bakken stretched his p oint lead ove r the o ther Open bike riders by taking another firs t 400 Ex pe rt. A. C. ran a stro ng seco nd for the whole race , wi th Bob Balentin e in ho t pursui t coming through t he p its . But Bo b reac hed the finis h in 43 rd Overall.
