Jackson finish ed second followed by Gary Castillo (H o n) , in fourth was Mit ch Gomes (H us) . The 125 Novi ce class was won by Jon Zi mme rman (H o n) . Willia ms also won the 360 Trophy Dash. • Vallejo scrambles By James Brammer VAL LEJO , CAL., MA R . 22 Duan e Yarro w is the man to b ea t in the Frid ay night scramb les at Vallej o Speedway. Phil Anderson did just that in the 250 Expert fin al. Riding a 1974 V R Montesa, Ander s on held the lead throughou t the final with second pla ce Yarrow (Ya m) , Dave Faria (Oss) , J erry Blan d (Bu l) , a nd Bill Bisel (Suz ) follo w ing closely . Ya rr ow (Ya m) won the 360·500 Exper t class in cludi ng his qualifyi ng he at wh ere hi s brother A lle n Yarrow (Ya m) fe ll, and Jerry Kole ran off the tr ack. T hey returned to the r ace finis h ing last a n d still tran sfered to th e fin al . In the fin al . Duan e held the lead wit h Ron Kesler (S uz) doing the chasin g and All en Y arrow m ovin g up for thi rd . S te ve Young (T ri) a n d Phil Ande rson (T ri) fini shed one-two in the 650 Expert class, but they didn't have to compete aga in st the snortin ' Norton rid d en by Cliff Servetti to firs t in the 650 Junior fin al. Ro ss Putnam (Tri) repeat ed h is openi ng n igh t wi n in th e 650 Novice class w ith Bill Morgan (T ri) second . Brian Ko ga (Suz) ran o ff with th e lead in the 25 0 Junior class in hi s q ua lifying h eat, w ith Rick Del acy finj shing third. Once Ric k Del acy b roke into the lead in th e 25 0 Junior fin al, it became a w ild race. D onnie St ommell (Suz) m oved up fro m third to seco n d and closed o n the highl y ra ted short track E xp ert at th e finish . Sacramento rider, Pe t e Finne y (Ya m) to o k th ird. The Open Expert class was hotly co n teste d by Presto n Ge rbe r and Kim Morgan ; each rider wo n a first an d a second .place w i th Gerber gett ing first by vir t ue of h is firs t place in the last m oto. The 250 Ex pe rt class w as w on b y Wo ody Lawh o n w ith tw o second p lace fin ishe s. Jeff Celorie was thi rd. Trophy Dash win ner in the 200 class was A lan Busby (Bu l). Busby wen t o n 10 claim first p lace in the A Main. Steve Sw eet (Bu l) ca m e in second with a cl o se third to Ed d y Dunca n (P uc). A grea t p er fo rm an ce by R ick Ol iver (Bu l) in t he 25 0 T ro p hy Dash, gave him t he wi n . In th e A Main, Oliver start ed in the lead with Mar k William s ( Ka w ) an d Charles Standeford (Su z) pressing close behind. Williams being the smooth rider he is, stre a ke d past Oliver an d won the race. Oliver and Standeford were right behind, A nother sp ectator thriller was the 360 " Main .
