You probably didn't know that Yamaha had a 525cc road racer. Neither did we, until Gene Romero lost a cylinder on his 700ccTZ750forty minutesaftersta rtingthe FlyingHouratDaytona. However, Gene kept going and still managed to set a new world record of 150.6725 mph for the Flying Hour;and a new world record of 150.4205 mph forthe Sta nd ing Start One Hour Run. Naturally, these records are subjectto FIM - 4L..- AMA confirmation. And we certainly hope no one decides that a missing cylinder constitutes an illegal modification to Gene's otherwise stock TZ750.
